Fugitive Trail (K-9 Mountain Guardians #3) by Elizabeth Goddard

Title: Fugitive Trail (K-9 Mountain Guardians #3)
Author: Elizabeth Goddard
Pages: 224
Release Date: March 1, 2020
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Publisher: Harlequin Love Inspired Suspense
Format: Paperback (also available in eBook)
Note: I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was not required to write a positive review. All of the opinions expressed are my own.

About the book:

     A killer’s out for vengeance…

unless this K-9 sniffs him out first.

When a plane carrying dangerous convicts crashes in the Colorado Rockies, Deputy Sierra Young and her search-and-rescue K-9, Samson, race to help—and discover they’re after her! With one survivor vowing revenge, Sierra’s former coworker turned PI, Bryce Elliott, is determined to protect her. But can Bryce, Sierra and Samson track down the fugitive before he succeeds in taking their lives?

My review:

This is a wonderful romantic suspense novel!

I thoroughly enjoyed both of the main characters. It was great to see how they interacted with each other. They had a past relationship that left them uncertain how to proceed in the current situation.

The plot of the story is very intricate. The danger is palpable and kept me focused on the story. I was tied up emotionally with the safety of the characters, and that includes Samson, the search-and-rescue dog.

I was fascinated with the details about how Samson was trained and then commanded in different situations. I loved finding out that his official commands were given in German so that he wouldn’t be confused by regular conversations. I knew that some police dogs are commanded in German but I didn’t know the reason why.

I am giving this great book a rating of 5 stars. I highly recommend it.

Deadly Evidence (Mount Shasta Secrets #1) by Elizabeth Goddard

Title: Deadly Evidence (Mount Shasta Secrets #1)
Author: Elizabeth Goddard
Pages: 224
Year: 2019
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Publisher: Love Inspired Suspense
Format: eBook (also available in paperback)
Note: I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was not required to write a positive review. All of the opinions expressed are my own.

About the book:

A dangerous reunion they may not survive.

FBI agent Tori Peterson intends to find her sister’s murderer, even if someone’s willing to kill her to keep the truth hidden. But that means returning home and working with the lead detective—her ex-boyfriend, Ryan Bradley. Though sparks still fly between them, Tori and Ryan must stay focused on catching a killer. . .before they are silenced for good.

My review:

This is a fantastic romantic suspense novel!

I love the depth of the main characters in this story. Both Tori and Ryan have a lot of memories of their time together years ago. It makes it hard for them to know how to act around each other during the current dangerous period for them. It was fun to see how they tried to work together while not really working together.

The plot of this story had so many twists and turns that I was kept guessing right up to the end. The culprit was a complete surprise and I loved that.

I’m looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

I’m giving this wonderful book a rating of 5 stars. I highly recommend it.

Genre: Romantic Suspense
Publisher: Harlequin Love Inspired Suspense
Format: eBook (also available in paperback)
Note: I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I have chosen to write this review to express my personal opinion.

About the book:

     Perilous reunion at sea.

When shipwreck archaeologist Cora Strand is attacked and the research boat she’s on explodes, her ex comes to her rescue. Years ago, Kirk Higgins forfeited her heart, and now with no memory of who attacked her, Cora must trust him with her life. But at the risk of blowing his cover, can the NCIS agent stop a killer determined to put them both in a watery grave?

My review:

This is a thrilling romantic suspense novel!

I love both of the main characters! Kirk and Cora have come back into each others’ lives while they each carry baggage from how things ended before. They both have deep insecurities that they need to work through. I enjoyed reading their journeys and found it encouraging that they were both praying for God’s help.

The plot was filled with plenty of twists and heart-pounding action. There were a lot of secondary characters. One of the things that kept me guessing along with Kirk and Cora was the question of who were the good guys and who weren’t

I loved this story and am giving it a rating of 5 stars and highly recommending it.

September 1, 2018:
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Publisher: Harlequin Love Inspired Suspense
Format: Paperback (also available in eBook)
Note: I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I have chosen to write this review to express my personal opinion.

About the book:

He’s her undercover bodyguard— but she can’t know.

When someone tries to kill former government agent Jonna Strand, Ian Brady comes to her rescue. Now Ian must keep Jonna safe and catch the would-be killer—without revealing he was sent undercover to protect her. But when Jonna learns the truth, can she look past his secrets and lean on him to ensure they live through the storm-ridden night?

My review:

A fantastic heart-pounding romantic suspense novel!

Both Jonna and Ian are incredibly strong and courageous. They face danger at every turn. This book is packed with twists and turns so that means it is packed with danger. They each have a lot of baggage from their pasts. It is all related to their jobs and it makes it hard to go back to the dangerous situations that they are now having to face together. The biggest decision they have to deal with individually is whether they can trust each other or not.

I love the setting for most of this book. The lodge on the cliff in northwestern Washington and the winter storms that keep taking place are perfect for this story. It really adds to the feeling of danger and helped to get my heart racing.

This marvelous story is getting a 5 star rating from me. I am highly recommending it.

Thread of Revenge (Coldwater Bay Intrigue #1) by Elizabeth Goddard

Title: Thread of Revenge (Coldwater Bay Intrigue #1)
Author: Elizabeth Goddard
Pages: 218
Release Date: February 6, 2018
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Publisher: Harlequin Love Inspired Suspense
Format: Paperback (also available in eBook)
Note: I received a free copy of this book from the author. I have chosen to write this review to express my personal opinion.

About the book:

COAST GUARD PROTECTOR

Marine biologist Sadie Strand is back in her coastal hometown to prove her best friend was murdered—but searching for evidence almost costs Sadie her life. Abducted, drugged and left for dead on a sinking boat, she’s barely rescued in time by Coast Guard Investigative Service special agent Gage Sessions, an old friend. Assigned to protect Sadie and connect three complicated cases, Gage risks his life time and again to make sure the woman he once loved survives. But although the handsome, guarded agent vows to protect her, someone will keep killing to ensure the truth never rises to the surface.

My review:

This is an exciting, action packed romantic suspense novel!

I thoroughly enjoyed both of the main characters. They are very well developed. I was able to understand what motivated each of them. By the end of the book I did get a little annoyed with all the repetition of why each of them felt they should not love the other one.

The plot was fantastic. There were plenty of twists and turns that kept me turning the pages to try and find out who was behind the murders. I was really pulling for Sadie and Gage to safely solve the mystery and be able to move on with their lives.

In spite of the minor annoyance I have decided to give this book 5 stars. I wasn’t annoyed enough to take off a star. I am highly recommending this exciting book.

Wilderness Reunion (Wilderness, Inc. #4) by Elizabeth Goddard

Title: Wilderness Reunion (Wilderness, Inc. #4)
Author: Elizabeth Goddard
Pages: 215
Release Date: July 4, 2017
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Publisher: Harlequin Love Inspired Suspense
Format: Paperback (also available in eBook)
Note: I received a free copy of this book from the author. I have chosen to write this review to express my personal opinion.

About the book:

     Moving Targets!

After stumbling on a drug operation, Alice Wilde races through the woods as bullets whiz past, using her skills as a wilderness guide to elude her pursuers. But she doesn’t stay safe for long once one of the armed men recognizes her…and starts stalking her. When the sheriff asks her to guide his men and photojournalist Griffin Slater—her ex-boyfriend—to the crime scene, though, she can’t refuse. Alice knows Griffin’s just there for a story, but after the two of them are separated from the rest of the group, he’s the only person who can save her. And with someone willing to do anything to hunt them down, Alice must put aside their past if she wants to survive.

My review:

Filled with intense heart-pounding action and danger!

This is a stand-alone story. Really the only thing that you can gain by reading this book after the others in the series is the ability to recognize the names of some very minor characters.

I love the vulnerability that Alice displays. At the same time she has the courage and strength to carry on and do what she needs to do. Her help is vital to the cause of bringing justice. She is wounded by a past memory and it has crippled her abilities. She is also carrying wounds caused by Griffin’s departure from her life. The emotional journey that she goes on in this book trying to learn to trust Griffin again is great. She also has to learn to lean on God for His protection.

The story is very twisted and it really kept my interest. I desperately wanted Alice and the rest of the group to survive their trek into danger. I needed to find out who the bag guys were and see how they were dealt with.

This marvelous book is getting a 5 star rating from me. I highly recommend it.

In a freezing landscape as deadly as it is beautiful, they’ll have to let go of the past…and face down powerful men willing to kill to keep secrets buried.

Wilderness, Inc.: Surviving the wilderness of Oregon takes training…and trust.

My review:

     An amazing adrenaline rush!

This is a stand alone story. The main characters from the previous books do make an appearance but only in secondary roles.

The main characters are fantastic! The fact that their lives are very intertwined from years ago made for a great story. I was really interested in seeing how they would work through their individual wounds and move forward.

The danger they are in is palpable and really kept me reading. I was intrigued by the question of why the shooters were targeting them.

I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful book. I am highly recommending it and giving it a rating of 5 stars.

Undercover Protector (Wilderness, Inc. #2) by Elizabeth Goddard

Title: Undercover Protector (Wilderness, Inc. #2)
Author: Elizabeth Goddard
Pages: 224
Release Date: January 3, 2017
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Publisher: Harlequin Love Inspired Suspense
Format: Paperback (also available in eBook)
Note: I received a free copy of this book from the author. I have chosen to write this review to express my personal opinion.

About the book:

     Shattered sanctuary!

Undercover at a tiger sanctuary, Special Agent Grayson Wilde’s convinced the owner must be involved in a wildlife trafficking ring—until someone tries to kill her. Now with Gemma Rollins’s life on the line, it’s clear that more than the wildcats need his help. Gemma’s determined to rebuild the tiger oasis she lost when her family died. But someone wants her out of the way, and she’s starting to wonder if her parents’ and uncle’s deaths were really accidental. Grayson says he’ll do anything to protect Gemma, but she can’t shake the feeling that her alluring new volunteer might not be all that he seems. With a vicious criminal closing in, though, she has to trust Grayson… because she won’t survive without him.

My review:

     An incredibly exciting suspense novel!

This book is a “stand-alone within a series” novel. The story itself stands alone though characters from the first book are mentioned and make cameo appearances.

I absolutely love both of the main characters in this wonderful story. I was completely able to understand the emotional hang-ups that both Gray and Gemma deal with. They are so well developed and their pasts are slowly shared and discussed.

The journey that Gemma goes on to trust God again is very easy to understand. She wants to believe but her heartache has raised horrible doubts.

The mystery about the wildlife trafficking ring is gradually spelled out. The suspense and danger that Gemma and Gray face is so well presented that I was caught up in it and at times my heart was racing as their lives were in danger. I was hooked from the first chapter and knew that I needed to find out who was behind it and how they would be caught.

I am giving this wonderful book a rating of 5 stars and highly recommending it. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series.
