Just because others believe she and Alex are an ideal couple, does that mean they should get married? And how can Caron say “I do” to one man when she’s wondering “what if?” about another?

My review:

     This is a very thought provoking contemporary romance!

     I love the main characters in this wonderful story. Caron has a very complicated life emotionally. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the journey she went on trying to sort it out and figure out how God wanted her to live it. She had a couple of very strong and supportive friends that were encouraging her along the way.

     At the same time Alex had a very difficult family life that he seemed to be trapped in. He also had to go through a period of sorting out his feelings about it and grow and mature.

     I was very caught up in the story and was pulling for each person to work through their problems and find their own happily ever after.

     I am giving this wonderful book a rating of 5 stars. I highly recommend it.

My Review

This is an incredible Woman’s Fiction book.

I enjoyed getting back into the story of Jillian, Payton, and Johanna. In this second book Jillian is the main focus. I am amazed at how well the author is able to present all the different dynamics of this family. Each of the sisters are still working through their own emotional issues. But at the same time they are trying to figure out how to be better sisters with each other.

The depth of these characters is great. The intricacies of their problems and the journeys they are taking to work through them definitely kept my interest. I look forward to seeing what comes next for these women.

She’s the wife of an Air Force family physician (now in solo practice) who said she’d never marry a doctor—or anyone in the military. She’s a mom of four who said she’d never have kids. I’m launching Moments We Forget, book two in the Thatcher Sisters series, and I’ve just turned in the final book in the series. I’d love to share book three’s title with you, but I don’t know what it is. (Of course, book three might have a final title by the time you read this—that’s part of the fun of prerelease deadlines.)

One thing I do know: the theme of “Little Women gone wrong” is woven through all of the books . . . thanks to the Thatcher sisters: Payton, Pepper, Jillian, and Johanna.

Sisters, be they real or imaginary, can be complicated.

Of course, there are sisters who have close relationships. They “get” each other and love doing life together.

But then there are the sister relationships that are like mismatched socks. Or those expensive jeans you loved in the store, but when you bring them home, they never quite live up to those moments in the dressing room.

Such are the Thatcher sisters. Johanna, Jillian, Payton, and Pepper grew up in the same family. They’re all tall. They love Broncos football and board games. But in so many ways their lives are like different movies because they each made different choices. Choices that changed and separated them. Moments We Forget continues to explore whether the Thatcher sisters can find a way to understand each other enough to bridge the distance between them.

     This book was difficult for me to read emotionally. I am a breast cancer survivor. The emotional journey that Jillian went through brought back a lot of painful memories of my own journey through treatment. I have to applaud the author on the wonderful job that she did covering this life changing time for Jillian.

     It’s been ten years since Payton Thatcher’s twin sister died in an accident, leaving the entire family to cope in whatever ways they could. No longer half of a pair, Payton reinvents herself as a partner in a successful party-planning business and is doing just fine—as long as she manages to hold her memories and her family at arm’s length.

     But with her middle sister Jillian’s engagement, Payton’s party-planning skills are called into action. Which means working alongside her opinionated oldest sister, Johanna, who always seems ready for a fight. They can only hope that a wedding might be just the occasion to heal the resentment and jealousy that divides them . . . until a frightening diagnosis threatens Jillian’s plans and her future. As old wounds are reopened and the family faces the possibility of another tragedy, the Thatchers must decide if they will pull together or be driven further apart.

My review:

     This is an incredibly well written Women’s Fiction book.

     The characters are some of the most well developed that I have found. The personalities of the sisters are extremely varied and easy to see within their birth order. They each have problems that they are dealing with so the focus isn’t on just one of them. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the emotional depth that they each went as they were interacting with each other. This is real life at its ugly best.

     I have decided to give this book a rating of 5 stars and highly recommend it.
